Innovation

It is innovation that sets us apart

At AURA, we are constantly innovating. We invest in the tools and techniques needed to enhance our approach to treating animal cancer.

There is an energy and skillset among the team to make that vision a reality. We are recognised as a centre for innovation, making discoveries that are changing thinking around animal cancers and even enlightening understanding and treatment around children’s cancers.

We often see patients who have been told their cancer is inoperable, or there are no other options available. Our experience, expertise and innovative nature often allows us to find solutions, when hope had otherwise seemed lost.

Does tumour volume predict outcome?
Working with University of Glasgow, AURA has started to use computer aided design to try and determine if the volume of tumour may influence the success of surgery. The three-dimensional imaging also provides the surgeon with a unique insight into the tumour's relationship with surrounding structures, so that a surgery can be more carefully planned.

Research success at AURA

We pride ourselves on not just providing world-class veterinary services. We are also a scholarly organisation and a serious seat of science, and a place where the whole family feel welcomed and understood. Our aim is to be recognised as a centre for innovation, making discoveries that are changing thinking around animal cancers and even enlightening understanding and treatment around cancer in humans.

Because of this relentless passion for discovery and innovation, AURA is for families that are seeking more knowledge about animal cancer and for treatment solutions that may not be available elsewhere. Our knowledge and experience allows us to offer procedures that can improve quality of life or chances of survival. However, this same knowledge enables us to act as the animal’s guardian and the owner’s supporter. Through open conversations we help share reliable, trustworthy, authoritative information with clarity and compassion.

Publications by AURA clinicians

A list of all peer-reviewed publications in international veterinary journals by the veterinarians while working at AURA. A commitment to research, and the desire for advancing and sharing knowledge, is a fundamental quality of the clinical team at AURA.
