Anaesthesia Specialist

Job description

We are looking for an ECVAA/ACVAA Boarded, or residency-trained clinician who is comfortable working in a centre of excellence for medical and surgical oncology, soft tissue surgery, internal medicine, interventional oncology and diagnostic imaging. The hospital receives secondary and tertiary referrals, in particular complex oncologic cases and soft tissue surgery and internal medicine emergencies.

You would be joining a team of Specialists (ACVS / ECVS / ACVIM (Onc) / ECVIM (Onc, Int Med) / ECVDI), residents, specialty interns, rotating interns, nurses, auxiliaries and a Clinical Research Assistant.

AURA has four large state-of-the-art theatres exposed to natural light, a large prep area, digital radiography, fluoroscopy, an advanced ultrasound machine for locoregional anaesthesia, a 160 slice CT scanner and a Cell Saver unit facilitating intra-operative blood transfusions.

The location of the hospital and its proximity to the University of Surrey Veterinary School and Royal Surrey Hospital increases the research opportunities available for all staff and development of research ideas are both encouraged and supported. It is well served by both Gatwick and Heathrow airports and is within 30 minutes of central London via train.

This is a full-time (4 days/week) role but part-time arrangements will be considered. There is no formal on-call requirement but occasional telephone advice may be sought.
