Job description
The role of a rotational night and day registered veterinary nurse (RVN) is to work in a set pattern on both night and day shifts.
The night aspect of the role is a ward-based position and is vital in providing inpatient care within the hospital, within a small, dedicated night team. The day aspect will be a rotational position working through wards, theatre and imaging, and medical oncology. It requires the post holder to work as a member of the entire team to include the specialists, residents, interns, Senior RVNs, RVNs and auxiliaries.
It is essential that the post holder is driven and motivated to learn and develop their clinical nursing skills and knowledge to an advanced level. The role requires dedication and hard-work in order to ensure the delivery of the highest level of patient care.
The post holder will require strong communication skills in order to carry out their duties when interacting with the clinical team and the non-clinical staff to include the front of house team, finance team, facilities team and stock controller in order to promote the clinical flow of patients through all areas of the hospital. Communication with clients should be excellent to ensure that they are provided with all relevant information regarding the care for their pets.
