About Dr Almudena Arenas Alvarez

Almudena graduated from the University of Zaragoza (Spain) in 2010.  Then, she completed an internship and a Masters degree in Equine Medicine in the Large Animal department of the University of Zaragoza over the next two years. She travelled to the United States where she spent a year studying English as Second Language. In 2016 she completed a second Equine Medicine internship in Ireland, where she developed a special interest in anaesthesia. In 2017, she completed an internship in Small Animal Anaesthesia and Analgesia at the Animal Health Trust in Newmarket, England. After working in general practice for almost three years, Almudena joined the Small Animal Teaching Hospital of the University of Liverpool as a Resident in Anaesthesia and Analgesia.

Almudena joined AURA veterinary in March 2024 as a clinician in Anaesthesia and Analgesia. Her clinical interests lie in the management of perioperative pain, locoregional anaesthesia, chronic pain management and mechanical ventilation.
