Ruby always knew she wanted to work with animals from a young age. A classic case of ‘the animal lover’ she pursued this passion through veterinary nursing. She graduated from the Royal Veterinary College with a Foundation Degree in Veterinary Nursing in 2013.
Following her graduation she worked in general practice at Pet Doctors Woking for two years. There she trained as clinical coach and mentored student nurses, which ignited her love for teaching others.
In 2015 Ruby went on to commenced her referral nursing career at Fitzpatrick Referrals Orthopaedic & Neurology. Ruby worked as a prep nurse in theatre, anaesthesia and advanced imaging, and continued to coach students.
In November 2021 she became Head Nurse, kick starting the managerial aspect of her role.
Throughout her time working as a prep nurse, she developed a keen enthusiasm for anaesthesia and is currently undertaking the Graduate Certificate in Advanced Veterinary Nursing (Anaesthesia) with Harper Adams University, a two-year course which is due to complete in summer 2023.
Ruby joined AURA Veterinary in January 2023, as the Nursing Manager. She is excited to inject her contribution to AURA’s ever developing innervational service, and empower her fellow RVN’s to push the boundaries of nursing.
At home Ruby has a rescue greyhound and two guinea pigs with her partner. She also shares a horse with a friend. She enjoys a good gallop to clear the cobwebs!
